Description
Around coffee tables were presented by Muuto for the first time at the 2011 Maison & Objet fair. Danish designer Thomas Bentzen created these pieces inspired by the traditional values of Scandinavian design while giving them a unique and modern identity. Available as a side table and coffee table, they are the epitome of functionality and sleek design. The practical tops have high rims to avoid the risk of spilling your glass of wine or cup of tea on the floor. The two tables come in different heights and can also be overlapped to create a set that can be adapted to your needs and create a graphic effect. Made in oak and ash and available in a natural or stained finish, Around tables are ideal for living rooms and blend in perfectly with all interior styles.

Thomas BENTZEN
Founded in 2010, the Thomas Bentzen design studio is based in Copenhagen. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - School of Design in 2003, Thomas Bentzen has headed Muuto's Design department from 2013 to 2015, having previously been appointed Design Manager from 2011 to 2013 within the same company. His work is characterised by simplicity, rationality and functionality. Thomas Bentzen likes to create products that make sense in everyday life while meeting human needs. Its aim is to stimulate curiosity. Thomas Bentzen combines the use of materials and new technologies with traditional craftsmanship. " For me, sustainability means quality, form and function and putting an immense amount of energy into making virtues into necessities." His reputation extends to the creation of the iconic Cover Chair and his taste for sustainable products. His collaborations with Hay, Louis Poulsen, Menu and Muuto are testament to his talent. He never forgets to add a playful touch to his creations, as in the case of the Shade Bin. "Scandinavian design has always been about honesty and functionality, mixed with poetry. That's the way I like it. I think that Scandinavian designers have succeeded in bringing their heritage into an era where we are no longer at the side of the cabinetmaker, but are challenged and excited by new materials and new ways of producing. "

MUUTO
Founded in 2006 by Peter Bonnen and Kristian Byrge, Muuto is a young design manufacturing company that affirms its ambition to perpetuate the Golden Age of Scandinavian design by encouraging continuous innovation and creativity. Muuto develops Scandinavian design tradition and infuses them with new perspectives, by giving free rein to the latest generation of designers such as Norway Says, Louise Campbell, and Thomas Bentzen. Muuto produces designer furniture such as the must-have Around coffee tables, the Split dining table, the Fiber and Nerd chairs, armchairs and stools, and the Stacked modular storage unit.
