For Gubi's Beetle collection, GamFratesi was inspired by the beetle by taking a close look at its anatomy. The design duo reinterpreted the insect's characteristic elements: shape, shell, joints, rigid exterior and flexible interior. The Beetle Padded Front Chair has the same soft core as the fully upholstered version, giving it exceptional comfort while the contrasting polypropylene plastic exterior acts as a protective shell. The front upholstery of the Beetle can also be changed over time to give the chair a different expression and a new life to your interior design.The comfortable and dynamic design makes the chair suitable for a variety of environments, both at home and at work.

GAMFRATESI

The GamFratesi studio was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. GamFratesi is part of the latest generation of furniture designers, and together they represent a new interpretation of Danish and international design. GamFratesi's designs draw their creative impetus from the fusion of tradition and renewal, as well as from an experimental approach to materials and techniques. With their respective cultures, they draw their inspiration from Danish furniture and Scandinavian craft traditions, but also from Italy's timeless conceptual and intellectual approach. Thanks to this multi-cultural partnership, GamFratesi creates furniture pieces that reflect tradition while presenting unique stories, symbols and associations, often expressed in a minimalist style. The GamFratesi duo works with some of the biggest names in design, including Gubi, with the Bat collection and the now famous Beetle chair, Hay, with the Silhouette sofa, and also Minotti, Dedon and Fontana Arte.

Danish brand Gubi reissues some of the greatest design classics created since 1967. Situated on Copenhagen docks, Gubi’s head office spans over 2000m2 in a former tobacco factory renovated into a large, modern exhibition loft space. Gubi is a designer renowned for creating, developing and marketing a bold and sleek collection of furniture, lighting and interior objects around the world. Iconic pieces evoke emotion and tell meaningful stories that make them both timeless and long-lasting.
