The Cedric Desk is an exercise in simplicity and refinement. Kay+Stemmer have drawn on their training at Parnham School to produce a perfectly proportioned piece that reveals levels of craftsmanship often overlooked in contemporary design. At first glance, this home desk has an angular appearance, but when the details are inspected more closely, rounded edges can be seen which soften the piece and reveal its subtle touch. Produced by SCP, Cedric Desk is made of European walnut, while the top and inside the drawers are upholstered with dark brown leather.
SCP was founded in 1985 by Sheridan Coakley and manufactures functional, aesthetic and durable designer furniture and accessories. The brand first exhibited at the Furniture Fair in Milan in 1986 and featured pieces by Matthew Hilton and Jasper Morrison. SCP then became a pioneer in the UK furniture industry. The brand has since collaborated with hugely talented designers including Konstantin Grcic and Tom Dixon. In particular, duo Kay + Stemmer has produced a series of storage and shelves such as the must-have Agnès and the Cedric desk.
