J110 chair is featured in Hay's reissued collection of Danish furniture classics originally designed for the Danish consumer cooperative society FDB. The initial idea that emerged in the 1940s was to create functional and democratic furniture, accessible to all. By using industrial production processes, and therefore reducing costs, FDB improved the availability of designer furniture for the general population, offering high quality design at relatively low prices. Designed by Poul M. Volther, the J110 armchair is made of beechwood and available in a natural or painted finish. J110 armchair perfectly represents vintage Scandinavian design with its pure, understated and retro lines. The designer opted for a backrest made of thin, wooden spindles, characteristic of the Windsor chair, to form an ethereal and graphic structure with a very comfortable seat. An armchair that adapts to all areas of your home. The seat is the same height as the other dining chairs, but thanks to its high backrest it bears a certain resemblance to a low armchair.

Hay was founded in 2002 to promote Danish design. Rather than sticking closely to the style of the country's former masters of design, Hay reinvents their work in a more contemporary context. The brand revisits the classical forms of Nordic design in a more contemporary context. Hay boasts user-friendly, aesthetic and functional designs. It draws from three main sources of inspiration: art, architecture and fashion. The producer pays particular attention to its environment and is inspired by contemporary culture.
