Easy chair M'AFRIQUE - SHADOWY Red, orange, yellow MOROSO

The M'Afrique collection is the result of a project launched by Moroso, which offers designers the opportunity to transpose the beauty of Africa throughout a collection of furniture. Tord Boontje was inspired by the bright colours and ethnic prints of Africa when creating the Shadowy armchair. Each piece is made in Africa from start to finish by local artisans who hand-weave plastic threads, a technique traditionally used to make fishing nets. Shadowy armchair combines organic shapes with a traditional technique to create very modern results and an "exochic" effect. Positioned somewhere between a throne and a gigantic plant, this outdoor armchair forms a comforting cocoon thanks to its oversized backrest. A true masterpiece illustrating the poetry and eccentricity of Africa. This armchair is the result of a remarkable piece of work in which countless multicoloured plastic threads were meticulously woven into highly graphic, geometric shapes. This Dutch designer has created a collection in which original curves give the feeling of being wrapped up and protected while being proudly enthroned in the garden.
