Designed in 1957 by Paulo Mendes da Rocha, the Paulistano armchair graced the lounges at the São Paulo Athletics Club for many years: the club was also designed by the Brazilian architect. The constructivist concept of the frame composed from a single bent steel bar and the leather seat give this armchair aesthetic lightness and incomparable comfort. Objekto has decided to reissue the Paulistano armchair in partnership with Paulo Mendes da Rocha. Produced on a larger scale, this iconic armchair from the 1950s, now featured in the MoMA collection, is no longer merely an object coveted by collectors, but a piece accessible to all.
