The Véla chair is available in a wide range of models designed, both aesthetically and functionally, to be integrated into office, soft-contract and residential environments. The technology contains a sophisticated "sensitive" mechanism integrated into the body of the seat that automatically adjusts the posture according to the user's weight. The seat adjustment is done by a control integrated in the seat base, which is easy to reach and discreet. The bases were designed by pushing metal processing technology to its limits. Cold-moulded, cone-shaped steel tubes with variable cuts become light and elegant support bases. Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina for Tecno, Vela is proposed here with a 5-star base on castors and leather upholstery.
Lievore Altherr Molina was founded by Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina in Barcelona in 1991. The studio specialises in product design, art direction and furniture, but is also at the heart of interior architecture and packaging projects. The three designers are united by a desire to design beautiful, pure forms, always with functionality in mind. Their internationally acclaimed work won Spain's National Design Award in 1999. They work with a wide range of companies including Andreu World, Arper, Emmebi, Forscarini, Poltrona Frau and Tacchini. They also continue to teach in parallel and give courses at Spanish universities. The Catifa and Leaf collections are among the largest and most popular with the public.
