Designed by Sebastian Herkner for Thonet, the high stool 118 is based on the specific shape of chair 118. This stool has been designed to meet the current requirements of the housing and catering sectors, where there is a trend towards increasing the height of tables and bars. The 118 stools are the ideal solution for this purpose. They have a small backrest that provides good support for the back and allows you to remain seated for longer periods of time. A tribute to the Thonet heritage, the 118 tall stool has a minimalist line and refined details, bringing subtle elegance to any style of space.

Born in Germany in 1981, Sebastian Herkner studied Product Design at the University of Arts and Design in Offenbach, graduating in 2007. He founded his own eponymous studio in 2006, also in the same city, specialising in object and furniture design. Following an internship at Stella McCartney during his studies, he developed a real sensitivity to colours, materials and textures. "There is a sensibility and identity to my work that emphasises function, material and detail." Sebastian Herkner also works on interior architecture projects and museum exhibitions. His many collaborations testify to his talent, including ClassiCon with the famous Bell table, Moroso, Pulpo, Cappellini, Gubi, And Tradition, La Chance, Zanotta and Thonet. His curiosity for different cultures is reflected in his creations. He combines traditional craftsmanship with new technologies to achieve a certain balance. Winner of numerous awards, he has been named "Designer of the Year" by the Maison & Objet show in 2019.
