The timeless BL6 sconce was designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best, a British designer strongly influenced by the Bauhaus school. The design of the Bestlite lamp was first adopted by garages and technical services of the Royal Air Force because of its high functionality. Public demand for Bestlite lamps quickly followed and when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, Bestlite's iconic status was achieved. This contemporary classic is now part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. In continuous production since its origin, the Bestlite BL6 wall lamp remains true to its industrial roots and original design. With its mobile arm and shade, the wall light released by Gubi is perfect for the corridor, near the office, as a bedside lamp or in the kitchen where light needs to be directed.
