Designed in 1947, the C-Chair chair is one of Marcel Gascoin's best known pieces.Reissued by Gubi, the chair represents not only the aesthetic and practical power of Gascoin's creations, but also the social conscience he demonstrated throughout the post-war period in France. The C-Chair was originally created out of necessity to adapt to the new dimensions of houses built at the end of the Second World War, where Gascoin filled the lack of space by creating simple and functional furniture. Intelligently designed with great attention to detail, the C-Chair has an elegant shape while being robust and rooted in a simple, minimal and strong design language. Characterised by voluminous and vigorous legs combined with a welcoming seat in a lighter material such as cane, the quality of the C-Chair edited by Gubi is revealed through its modern lines, its sobriety and a quality wood finish.
Danish brand Gubi reissues some of the greatest design classics created since 1967.
