Iconique, le fauteuil Chieftain est un des chefs d’œuvre de Finn Juhl, représentant le sommet de sa carrière en tant que designer. Lors de sa présentation en 1949, le fauteuil marque un renouveau dans la tradition du mobilier danois. Aujourd’hui, il est perçu comme un des représentants les plus importants du mouvement Moderne Danois aux Etats-Unis dans les années 50. Pour cette raison, Finn Juhl est souvent considéré comme l’un des pères du design danois moderne.
Inspiré par l’art moderne et les cultures étrangères, le fauteuil Chieftain, avec ses formes organiques, se libère du design danois traditionnel et du fonctionnalisme strict à la fois dans la forme, la réalisation et les matériaux.
Raffiné et intemporel, le fauteuil Chieftain est disponible en noyer ou en chêne et revêtu de cuir de grande qualité.

HOUSE OF FINN JUHL
Since 2001, House of Finn Juhl has held the exclusive rights to bring the sculptural creations of designer Finn Juhl back to life. The Finn Juhl collection consists of over 40 classic masterpieces, all crafted with the utmost respect for the original heritage and with strict quality standards. The goal of House of Finn Juhl is to reintroduce the iconic Finn Juhl furniture in a modern context while staying true to the designer's original drawings. Even today, the production of Finn Juhl furniture is located in the town of Ringkøbing, on the west coast of Denmark. Upholstered furniture, such as the Pelican chair, is hand-stitched in the same tradition as originally intended.
