As early as 1954, Osvaldo Borsani decided to technologically develop the potential of the classic deckchair, already proposed by the most famous architects of the Modern Movement, by trying to go beyond the classic, fixed and bulky "resting chair". The result is a chair with smaller dimensions but which, thanks to a fan-shaped reclining system, can accommodate the body from the most reclining positions to completely closed in a large number of positions. Produced by Tecno, the P40 is a reclining armchair with movable elements, consisting of a metal pedestal that supports the seat and backrest, which are centred to allow for any inclination, a folding element under the seat that completes the support plane, a sliding metal footrest and steel and rubber armrests.
