Bodil Kjær est l'une des dernières pionnières vivantes du design scandinave du milieu du siècle. C'est aussi une femme pionnière dans le domaine de l'architecture à son époque et a conçu sa série Principal en 1961 dans le cadre d'une exploration architecturale des solutions d'intérieur pour la vie moderne, appelée Elements of Architecture. La série Principal est composée d'une table à manger et d'une chaise de salle à manger rembourrée. La table à manger Principal en bois massif présente une forme claire et épurée, multipliant les lignes droite et les angles nets, tandis que la chaise de salle à manger avec son siège circulaire et son dossier légèrement arrondi, ajoute une douceur à la géométrie claire et sans fioritures. La table Principal s'adaptera à tous les intérieurs de part sa sobriété et son élégance.
