The idea behind the DLM (don't leave me) side table, with its handle on top, is obvious; it implicitly says 'take me with you'. This table to take with you is composed of a tray with legs and a handle so that you can move it around easily, whether you are inside or outside. It is an alternative to traditional coffee tables, which are often bulkier. It's a fun table for a modern lifestyle. Created by Thomas Bentzen for Hay, DLM comes in two sizes and a wide variety of colours to suit your desires.
Founded in 2010, the Thomas Bentzen design studio is based in Copenhagen. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - School of Design in 2003, Thomas Bentzen has headed Muuto's Design department from 2013 to 2015, having previously been appointed Design Manager from 2011 to 2013 within the same company. His work is characterised by simplicity, rationality and functionality. Thomas Bentzen likes to create products that make sense in everyday life while meeting human needs. Its aim is to stimulate curiosity. Thomas Bentzen combines the use of materials and new technologies with traditional craftsmanship. " For me, sustainability means quality, form and function and putting an immense amount of energy into making virtues into necessities." His reputation extends to the creation of the iconic Cover Chair and his taste for sustainable products. His collaborations with Hay, Louis Poulsen, Menu and Muuto are testament to his talent. He never forgets to add a playful touch to his creations, as in the case of the Shade Bin. "Scandinavian design has always been about honesty and functionality, mixed with poetry. That's the way I like it. I think that Scandinavian designers have succeeded in bringing their heritage into an era where we are no longer at the side of the cabinetmaker, but are challenged and excited by new materials and new ways of producing. HAY
Hay was founded in 2002 to promote Danish design. Rather than sticking closely to the style of the country's former masters of design, Hay reinvents their work in a more contemporary context. The brand revisits the classical forms of Nordic design in a more contemporary context. Hay boasts user-friendly, aesthetic and functional designs. It draws from three main sources of inspiration: art, architecture and fashion. The producer pays particular attention to its environment and is inspired by contemporary culture.
