The latest addition to the eponymous collection, the Oslo chair combines modernity and great comfort in an enveloping and elegant form. The designers Anderssen & Voll take the characteristic elements of the sofas and armchairs of the collection to adapt them to the typology of the chairs. The result is a chair that is both welcoming and sculptural, consisting of a fully upholstered seat and backrest, supported by thin metal legs that give an overall impression of lightness. Edited by Muuto, the Oslo chair is attractive both on its own or as a configuration of several elements in a dining room, restaurant, workspace or hotel room.
Founded in 2009 by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, Anderssen & Voll is a Norwegian design studio based in Oslo. The duo, who were previously partners in the Norway Says group, work in a variety of design fields but concentrate on domestic objects. They have been named Norwegian and Scandinavian Designer of the Year and have received international awards for their work with furniture, lighting and home accessories. In their view, a good product builds on and extends tradition while simultaneously breaking with the rules of that tradition. Their iconic creations include the Outline seating series, the Oslo lounge chair, the Elephant table and the unique Ildhane candlestick. Their many collaborations with famous publishers such as Lapalma, Muuto, Hay and AndTraditon have contributed to their reputation.
