Presented at the Milan 2019 show, Shiki is a collection of sofas created by Damian Williamson for Zanotta. Inspired by the understated traditional Japanese futon, this sofa evokes a thick mattress resting on a wooden base covered with fabric. The quilted pattern delimits the generous seat cushion, embellished by hand-stitching in the shades of the upholstery. The design is characterised by the dynamic alternation of different thicknesses and heights, imitating an urban landscape, an architectural composition created from harmoniously contrasting materials, finishes and volumes. Available in different leathers and fabrics, the Shiki cover is removable.
