With Standard, Francesco Binfaré has reviewed the concept of comfort, increasing the possible solutions with different seating elements, which may be regular, uneven or deep, but are always combined with a flexible cushion that can be used as a backrest or armrest. The system offers great freedom to create a wide variety of configurations, whether linear or L-shaped. It is a flexible collection that adapts to the user's needs. Thanks to the 'smart' cushions, the armrests and backrests can be individually inclined in any position for maximum comfort. Elegant and inviting, Edra's Standard will be at home in any style of living room.

Francesco Binfaré was born in Milan, Italy, in 1939. After completing his artistic training under his father, he began working for Cassina in 1960, initially as a researcher for new technologies and then as Cesare Cassina's assistant for new projects and later for the production of prototypes. From 1969 to 1976, he was director of Centro Cassina and was responsible for the creation of design classics such as "Up 5" by Gaetano Pesce (1969) and "AEO" by Paolo Deganello (1973). In 1980, he set up the Centro design e comunicazione to develop projects. After leaving Cassina in 1991, Francesco Binfaré designed seats that have become design icons such as the matching "L'Homme et la Femme" (1993), Tangeri (1994) and Angels (1996) sofas for Edra; the "Girotonda" armchair in 1994 and the "Grand'angolo" sofa in 1995 for Adele C.
