La cafetière espresso La Cupola est dessinée en 1988 pour le célèbre éditeur italien Alessi par Aldo Rossi, auteur de certains des objets les plus représentatifs des années 80 dont la cafetière La Conica, quatre ans auparavant. La Cupola montre la capacité propre aux grands designers de dialoguer avec les goûts du public: une cafetière à moka ?pour tous?, dans un bel aluminium qui réchauffe toute la saveur du café à l'italienne avec art et simplicité. Cette cafetière est devenue une icône de la marque, naît comme une évolution de l'opération « Tea & Coffee Piazza » qui avait vu de grands architectes s'engager sur le thème de la création d'un service à thé et à café. Elle est réalisée en fonte d'aluminium avec poignée et pommeau en polyamide noir. La Cupola est considérée comme l'essence même de toutes les cafetières qui occupent nos cuisines, et servir le café à ses convives devient un véritable plaisir.

ALESSI

In 1921, Giovanni Alessi founded the Italian company Alessi. Since 1929, the company has focussed on producing nickel- or silver-plated copper tableware. When Carlo Alessi, Giovanni's son, was appointed design director in 1935, handcrafting methods were replaced by industrial manufacturing. In 1955, the company began collaborating with world-renowned architects and designers such as Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, and later, Philippe Starck and Marcel Wanders. Alessi makes design accessible by focussing on useful, humorous and visually appealing home accessories. Most of its products have become design classics that are sold and exhibited around the world.
