Lorsque Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec ont conçu une lampe pour Established & Sons et Venini, leur idée était d'éclairer une structure volumineuse en verre qui serait en équilibre sur un support délicat en aluminium. En attirant l'attention sur la précarité de cet équilibre, Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec ont voulu mettre en avant la vulnérabilité de l'objet. Ils se sont également intéressés au mélange des techniques de production des trois éléments composant la lampe Lighthouse : la base et le support sont produits industriellement, contrairement à la cloche en verre fabriquée à la main selon des traditions artisanales. Elegante et sculpturale, Lighthouse est une lampe qui s'impose dans tous les intérieurs modernes.

Ronan & Erwan BOUROULLEC

Born in 1971 and 1976 in Quimper, France, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec pursued their studies at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the École nationale supérieure d’arts in Cergy-Pontoise, respectively. In 1999, the brothers teamed up to establish a design studio in Paris. Their work spans the creation of home accessories and objects (vases, tableware, jewelry…), furniture for the home and office, as well as architectural projects that involve spatial planning and design. Among their standout creations, the "l'Algue" for Vitra, is a modular design that, when assembled, forms an asymmetrical and poetic room divider. Alongside designers like Jasper Morrison and Hella Jongerius, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec play a key role in the growing Vitra Home Collection. In recent years, they have also collaborated with brands like Alessi, Kartell and Nanimarquina designing pieces such as the Losanges rugs. Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec have earned numerous accolades, including Designer of the Year at Maison et Objet Now! in 2011, the Grand Prix du Design from the City of Paris in 1998, the New Designer Award at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York in 1999, and the Finn-Juhl Prize in Copenhagen in 2008. Their works are housed in prestigious museums, including the MoMA and the Centre Pompidou. Through their collaborations with brands like Vitra, Hay annd Flos, Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec have become icons of 21st-century design.
