La cafetière Moka éditée par Alessi est avant tout un hommage qu'Alessandro Mendini rend à son grand-père maternel, Alfonso Bialetti, qui, au cours des années 30 a été l'inventeur, le designer et le premier producteur de la Moka Express, la célèbre cafetière espresso italienne. Un classique du design du 20ème siècle avec sa forme octogonale qui s'inspire du futurisme et de l'art déco. Réalisée en aluminium fondu en coquille, la cafetière Moka présentée ici reprend les codes traditionnels avec des lignes courbes et des rondeurs tout en apportant certaines améliorations : le volume du récipient est recalculé, l'épaisseur du matériau optimisée et l'ergonomie du pommeau plus adaptée. La cafetière Moka s'est inscrite de façon indélébile dans la mémoire collective du public et le rituel continuera à se répéter chaque matin. Bien loin des nouvelles cafetières électriques, vous exposerez fièrement cette cafetière sur le plan de travail de la cuisine.

ALESSI

In 1921, Giovanni Alessi founded the Italian company Alessi. Since 1929, the company has focussed on producing nickel- or silver-plated copper tableware. When Carlo Alessi, Giovanni's son, was appointed design director in 1935, handcrafting methods were replaced by industrial manufacturing. In 1955, the company began collaborating with world-renowned architects and designers such as Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, and later, Philippe Starck and Marcel Wanders. Alessi makes design accessible by focussing on useful, humorous and visually appealing home accessories. Most of its products have become design classics that are sold and exhibited around the world.
